“Holistic, or biological, dentistry starts from the principle that the mouth reflects what’s going on in the body and the body reflects what’s going on in the mouth.”

Dentistry that Supports Your Total Health
Biological dentistry is about far more than just being fluoride-free, mercury-free, and mercury-safe.
It’s even about more than addressing dental situations that may be dragging down your overall health – mercury amalgam “silver” fillings, for instance, or root canal teeth or cavitations.
It’s about addressing the needs of the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – through a blend of the best in modern clinical dentistry with the insights of physiological energetics and traditional healing wisdom.
Our goal is to help you keep your mouth as clean and healthy as possible to support your overall health and wellness.
We want you and your family to feel at home in our office – cared for and cared about. Everything we do, we do to protect and enhance your health in a relaxed, accepting, and positive environment.
For biological dentistry is bio-LOGICAL dentistry: dentistry that makes sense for life, that supports life.
We invite you to learn more about us and our practice to see if what we offer is right for you.
Dr. Sefcik follows the IABDM’s PROTECT Protocol for the safe removal of mercury fillings, a protocol rooted in the groundbreaking work of Dr. Hal Huggins.
Serum (blood) testing is available to ensure that the materials she uses to restore your teeth are safe and biocompatible. The composites we use for tooth colored fillings are BPA-free (including related compounds).
We use ozone regularly to help control the proliferation of harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Essential oils also play a key role in maintaining a healthy oral microbiome.
Where dead, infected root canal teeth or bone infections are a problem, Dr. Sefcik can address the issue surgically, removing the teeth or cleaning out extraction sites as needed. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is used to support healing after all surgical procedures. PRF is available for cosmetic dental procedures, as well.
As detox is a crucial part of successfully addressing dental situations that may be impacting overall health, we work closely with a number of naturopathic physicians and other integrative practitioners in the Greater Austin area to support your healing through and after your dental procedures.
Dr. Sefcik has a long history of successfully treating individuals with longstanding chronic health problems in which dental burdens appear to be playing a role. If you have special needs due to compromised health, we encourage you to contact our office to talk about how we can accommodate you.
